The Fitness First Training Methodology

The Biggest Loser Asia contestants on the show will be immersed in a transformational exercise programme that mirrors the Fitness First “way” or training methodology which is successfully used in over 550 clubs worldwide, day in, day out to help over 1.4 million members to achieve their goals.

The contestant’s fitness levels will be benchmarked in the key elements of fitness creating a powerful reference point for registering progress. Each workout will be planned, recorded and feedback will be given for each contestant. All of the workouts will relate back to the key elements of fitness, where each day’s training will include one or more workouts that centres around a particular element of fitness. The different types of workouts ranging from Personal Training, Group Exercise to Muay Thai will expose the contestants to broad range training methods, keeping things fresh and fun. Optimal nutrition will be needed to fuel exercise, replenish energy and rebuild muscle.

The Biggest Loser Asia training programme is built upon the following Fitness First key elements of fitness:

Core Strength
A strong core improves total body strength as all movement originates from the core.

Balance
Balance training improves coordination and reflexes, both important skills for day to day lif not to mention the various challenges that contestants will undergo during the show.

Strength
Powerful, toned muscle fuel fat loss and improve total body fitness, plus you look good a practical bonus for anyone on television.

Flexibility
Long lean flexible muscles are better equipped to deal with the demands of continuous training. Ensuring that contestants.

Cardio
A stronger heart means a healthier life, regular cardio training will ensure that the contestants will burn calories & lose fat.

Nutrition
A well balanced healthy diet is the corner stone of successful weight loss. Food intake must support (not exceed) energy expenditure whilst providing the body with all the essential ingredients required to rejuvenate and rebuild muscle tissue.

Rejuvenation
Muscle growth and restoration occur when the body is at rest. Contestants need to engage in active and passive rest during down times. Active rest is light enjoyable activity e.g. walk, an example of passive rest is sleeping or massage, activities that do not require significant energy expenditure.
